Great Job 7ptsVideo 2: The Elegant Universe Einstein's - Relativity

Before watching

What is gravity?

Gravity is the force that attract set of objets into each other. We usually refer to gravity as the force planets, asteroids or any other celestial bodies apply to object, attracting them into their surfaces, but this conception is valid fo every single object on universe, not only planets.

Who discovered it?

I'm not sure, I'm just remembering Newton's apple anecdote, so I believe it was him who made the first observations about this phenomenon.

How does the Einstein’s Relativity Theory relate with gravity?

I do not know, I do not know much about Relativity Theory.

Mention five words you might find in the video.

I think I will listen words as "forces", "attraction", "orbits", "planets", "interaction".

2. Which of the words in the question above did you find in the video? List them
Force, planets, orbits.

3. What was the embarrassing secret Newton was holding about gravity?
He could described the strength of gravity but he was not able to explain how does this force works, so, his expanation was not completely true.

4. The narrator presents some examples in the video. What happens in the first one? What happens to the sun and planets? Explain

In the first exampleCOMMA he supposes the Sun had just dissapeared and he tried to explain what could happen ti the planets and their orbits according to Newton's ideas. So, the planets must fly out of teir orbit as soon as the Sun dissapear.

5. What happens in the second one? What happens to the sun and planets? Explain

In the second case, The narrartor repeated the experiment, now studing the consequences acording to Einstein's idea, and it turns out the planet continues following it orbit until the action of gravity didn't reache it anymore, which took exactly the same time sun light stopped reaching the planet.

6. Why was Newton’s idea of gravity incorrect for Einstein?

Because it asummes that te gravity was a force produced by te Sun that acted instantly on the planets, but Einstein proved it was not posible because there were no physical phenomenon that could travel faster than light, and sun light takes almost 8 minuteS to reach Earth, so gravity could no reach the planet instantly.

7. What is the final definition of gravity given in the video?

It is considered in the video that gravity is a curve created in the space-time fabric by heavy objects like the planets.

8. What’s the name Einsten gave to it?

Einstein called this new vision General Relativity of gravity.

9. What’s the difference between Newton’s gravity and Einstein’s gravity?

Newton considered planets describe their orbits due to instantaneous force applied by th Sun, but Einstein considere they are just following curve designed on space-time fabric surface produce by Sun's presence
